The Montenegro International Guitar Competition takes place on 29 & 30 May 2026 at Tivat Cultural Center, under the general patronage of the Center.
The 2026 edition is built around three programme strands: a gala concert, an international competition with seven solo and seven ensemble categories, and master classes.
Solo guitar in seven age categories and chamber ensembles with guitar across seven school levels.
Gala concert on Friday 29 May, 20:00, on the Main Stage of Tivat Cultural Center.
Master classes are part of the festival programme.

The 2026 edition opens with a gala concert on the Main Stage of Tivat Cultural Center. Open to the public.
The jury is composed of prominent musicians and guitar pedagogues. Jury members may not vote for their own pupils or students. In the case of exceeding the prescribed performance duration, the jury has the right to stop the performance. The jury reserves the right not to award a prize if the candidates fail to meet the necessary performance criteria. Decisions of the jury are irrevocable.
Candidates organise and bear all costs of travel and accommodation in Tivat by themselves.
